This is the most terrifying images I have ever seen in my life. Japan experienced a 8.9-magnitude earthquake. The sirens sit off within minutes that a tsunami with 23 foot waves were on their way. People had about 10 minutes to get to higher grounds. — 10minutes is clearly NOT enough time for everyone to evacuate.

I’ve been following the reports closely since it happened early this morning (1:46am EST) but happened 2:46pm Japan time. It’s scary and my hearts go out to everyone effected. The videos that have been posted online are insane! So very scary and real. When the sirens went off to warn of the approaching tsunami, my heart started to race — and I’m no where near Japan or the West Coast. It’s just chilling to hear and see people panic.

As a human being, my heart aches. I cried after hearing and seeing it all on the news as the first reports started coming out. I couldn’t go to bed. I was paralyzed at my computer screen watching the live broadcasts (thanks BBC News, you have the best coverage in my opinion) coming from Japan and following trends on twitter.

When I heard this happening, I remembered an article I read a few days ago that predicted weather disruption on Earth and possible earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity in the next weeks.

ARTICLE POSTED ON MARCH 9, 2011 PREDICTED POSSIBLE DISRUPTION ON EARTH!!

“The web was yesterday awash with apocalyptic warnings that the movement of the moon will trigger tidal waves, volcanic eruptions and even earthquakes next week.

The conspiracy theorists claim that on March 19, the moon will be closer to Earth than at any time since 1992 – just 221,567 miles away – and that its gravitational pull will bring chaos to Earth.”

Quotes from an article by: David Derbyshire of the Daily Mail

After reading the article, how can that just be a coincidence? They predicted disruption because of the fact that every time there has been a “supermoon”, disasters struck in the weeks before and after. Well the supermoon is suppose to happen on March 19th, 2011 which is in about a week’s time.

Here’s another article posted early today on the Washington Post about the supermoon coincidence with the Japan earthquake. Of course there are some say it’s nonsense and say the Moon can’t effect Earth like this, but really… look at some of the facts that have been posted in that article. I’ll quote some below.

“There were SuperMoons in 1955, 1974, 1992 and 2005. These years had their share of extreme weather and other natural events.”Mark Paquette from AccuWeather.com

“Hurricane Katrina made land on the Gulf Coast on Aug. 29, 2005, which was 10 days after the SuperMoon for that month. The 1938 New England hurricane happened on Sept. 21, three weeks after a SuperMoon. Australia’s Hunter River experienced mass flooding and property destruction in February 1955, two whole months before and after bookending SuperMoons.”John Metcalfe

Of course these are theories and people are quickly to dismiss them. But after seeing what happened in Japan, how can you not think that a “supermoon” can cause this disruption and chaos on Earth.

———-
With all theories & coincidences aside, Japan has been hit hard and the devastation is heartbreaking. Many lives lost and many people missing. Aftershocks continue along with another 6.6-magnitude earthquake that was just reported not too long ago.

Please help and donate what you can. Every bit helps.

The true powers of Facebook…simply just reconnecting with people.

I’ve been able to reconnect with my aunt and cousins who live in Portugal. I’ve never met them or seen them in person, but we’ve known each other existed through stories from my father and uncle. Then one day I get a message from one of my cousins who tells me she’s my aunt’s daughter. And well, lets just say it’s been such a wonderful time reconnecting with that side of the family. The side of the family I never got to know or meet.

I can’t wait to make a trip to Portugal and visit them someday or vice versa with them coming to Canada. It’s going to be great! Only problem may be the language barrier. I’m not the best at speaking or writing in Portuguese as I’ve grown up with English as my first language, but I’m trying. Thankfully, so far what I’ve been able to write they understand. Haha.

Well, I get the help of family with that too which is great. Now to use MSN Messenger or Skype to web cam with them since they have already done so with my uncle’s family. My father can’t wait to see them on it. But there’s a time zone difference so we have to figure out when is the best time for both of us to get a chance to sit down and actually see each other.

Thank you again Facebook!!

It’s been awhile since I actually posted any photos from my everyday life, so I decided to upload a few — of the most important thing in my life.

Yes, that’s my dog named Ginger. She’s a Chihuahua and Pomeranian mix and will be 13 years old this month. She is my world and best friend. She’s great with children too, as long as they don’t pull her tail or take her doggy snacks (the last photo is her giving friendly kisses to my goddaughter). Through thick and thin, she’s been there to always cheer me up.

Anyone who has a dog or cat for a long period of time knows how important they become in your life. They sense when something’s wrong with you and try their best to make you happy. Even after a long day of work, you come through the door and are greeted lovingly. It’s such a great feeling.

I can’t imagine not having her in my life. She is my world – my everything.

There is so much snow outside right now. We are getting a huge blizzard here in Ontario. Its insane and not even stopping!!

I tried to let my dog out for bathroom break before bed, the side door would not budge at all!! I had go slam my entire body up against the door and push with all I had. It was a miracle it opened enough to let my dog out. Even then, I had to shovel a small square for her to do her business because there was plenty of snow piled up at the door.

So not looking forward to the morning. The snow has not stopped coming down and I can only imagine it will double come dawn.

I’m not how many of you have heard or seen this video of this form of infant exercise, but it’s very VERY DISTURBING.

I didn’t even know this existed until I saw this article about it and the video. I was shocked and horrified by it. Having two children at home, I would never in a million years think about doing anything even remotely close to this to them. It’s just unthinkable.

Watch for yourself.

My sister has been shopping around for a Blackberry (which would be her first). She’s always had other phones and even iPhones but never a Blackberry before. Me? I LOVE MY BLACKBERRY. Can’t live without it! — I just have to upgrade mine badddddd.

So when she came to me for advice, I recommended getting the Blackberry Bold 9780 – which is the one I want to upgrade to because I’m stuck with a shitty Curve 8310 at the moment.

She’s still has a contract with a phone company, so she had to go and find one on sites like Ebay or Kijiji — and she did. This really nice gentleman sold her a Blackberry Bold 9700 which was in excellent condition for about $240 which is a bargain considering they go for almost $500 on no contract.

And now comes her obsession with Blackberry & BBM — WHICH MOST BB USERS HAVE.

I’m slightly jealous. I want a damn Blackberry Bold 9780 so bad. Reviews from sites like Crackberry.com don’t help either. Just makes me WANT IT MORE!!

The Blackberry Bold 9700 is very similar to the 9780. The 9780 has a way better camera though, which is why I want it. But like I mentioned, I’m locked into my 3 year contract at the moment and the company is not giving me an upgrade hardware option until July which marks the 2 year mark I’ve been on it.
