I’m very iffy when it comes to shopping at Best Buy. It is NOT my first choice to go to when it comes to electronics, games, and other things. My first choice has always and will always be FUTURESHOP!

On occasion, they do sometimes have things on sale and even price match + give a 10% discount for matching a price if you find it at a competitor for less (like Futureshop). I also signed up for their Best Buy Reward Zone awhile back because I figured I might as well earn some points for the few times I shop there.

Well, this is what I get for signing up…

Thank you so very much. I’ve been wondering why I’ve been getting 50+ junk mail a day out of the blue. I appreciate it. NOT! I could have done WITHOUT signing up for the rewards program and getting spammed by a gazillion junk emails in my inbox. Ughhh… Back to cleaning out my inbox.

Best Buy Rewards Zone is a joke. the site is always down. And the few times that i went on there to claim my rewards points, they said that i already used them!! BS

  2. hazel says:

Thank you for the information I have been getting the same on my inbox now that I know. I thought I was getting junk mails as well. Now I will also go back to checking my inbox.

  3. tim says:

It is true there are times that you get error message or they say that you already have claimed your reward but you haven’t. They should update their website more often and make sure that people can get their rewards.

  4. mike says:

FYI: Futureshop and Best Buy are owned by the same company.

I have been Rewards Zone member for years…recently got a phone call letting my know my rewards certificate will expire soon and went on line to print certificate but would not recognize my email address/password. So typed in my member number and requested new password and it was sent to some yahoo email address which is not mine and I never have had a yahoo email account. Called their customer assistant number and they noted the current listed yahoo email adrress which I believe was put into my account fraudulently and my points were ALREADY GONE less than a hour after I tried to get my certificate printed. They are forwarding my problem to their internal review but not acknowledging their system has been hacked and email(s) changed. This is ridiculous…I even own stock in the company…may be time to sell it and quit shopping their if they have such lax security.

I never have a problem with the BB Reward Zone. It’s always very easy to log in and print my coupons.

As far as your information being leaked, that’s the world we live in. No company is perfect. At least they owned up to it, and apologized.

  7. Victor says:

I can’t even get to the reward zone to check in. I have all the right numbers but, can’t read & type their GIBERISH code so they tell me they are all taken.

  8. nina says:

For last 10 years we purchased 4 TV’s 2 video recorders, New style washer & dryer, New style refrigerator, 4 laptops, digital camara, and many software & misc. items. They never gave me any points for my rewards. Each purchase sales person or the person who help me said that my reward points will be automatically added into my account but never received any points. I recently found out I could buy exactly same item at sam’s club or other place for whole lot cheaper than best buy. What a bummer!!!!!!

  9. MaryJane says:

I have tried for 2 months now to activate my account-think I’m going to giveup. Could it be because I changed my me mail address–it used to be Grano60@aol.com?????????

  10. M. Taylor says:

I’ve been a rewards member for many years and at each purchase over the years I’ve given my phone number (to the cashier) to apply my purchases towards my “Rewards” account. Each time I thought I was building up “Rewards” points, well as it turns out, I have recieved zero points all those years! The “Rewards” points was an incentive for me (I thought) but it appears it’s a rip off. What a waste of time and money. Now after reading some of the other’s experiences regarding this “Rewards” points offer, I realize the source where most of the extra junk mail & telemarketing calls have been coming from !
To get “Rewards” points you must give your phone # & e-mail address.
Is Best Buy a store that sells your information for profit ?????

  11. Victor Havener says:

I have gotten through to rewards 3 times on the Internet but was told each time that the rewards line is busy — try again later..

I don’t even go in to Best Buy any more, but try to get what I want on line.

  12. Hal Skinner says:

I brought an item at Best Buy 2 weeks ago and applied it to the rewards program. I received an e-mail on my smart phone in the middle of the night with the rewars zone logo. I answered the questions and now I get tons of Spam. Best Buy needs to correct this problem with reward zone. It’s a pain in the rear.

  13. Aaron says:

Spot on! Best Buy’s Reward Zone IS an absolutely ridiculous joke!! I’ve been a member for 15 years, and have never seen a single benefit from it! Now, I buy most of my electronics from other places because they don’t limit you to specific models/options as much, and they are waaay cheaper. However, I bought a high-end TV, blu-ray player and other stuff totaling over $4000 this year, and all I have received is a $5 reward zone coupon! Absolutely ridiculous, and not worth the effort of whipping out a damn reward zone card every time I come in! Plus, they have personally identifiable information on me that I’m sure they’re selling to other companies for a profit! Really pisses me off!!

I’m a Walmart/Walmart.com shopper now! They never pull these types of stunts and always have consistently low pricing!!

  14. Sally says:

I got an email yesterday, alerting me that I have $5 expiring on January 5th. It it is now December 28th, so I hurried up and tried to use it. It now claims I already used my $5 and have no rewards now. It’s such BS! You sign up for a program to save you a little money, after you make large purchases, and the thing glitches up and tells you that you are out of luck because you already used it … according to them. I sure wish they would tell me when I used it and on what because I surely don’t recall using it. They send me the email only 24 hours ago. What happened?

  15. Michael says:

What A Joke!! I recently purchased $6000 in phones, ipads and home theater equipment. I didn’t really know or care about the reward zone, but thought I might as well take advantage of this program. Now I realize that I am the one getting taken advantage of…This Program is a deceptive pile of sh**. I had to call and talk to a rep for about 30 mins just to get my purchases attached and was told it would be 35 days to post certificates. Two weeks prior to certificates posting all points were showing pending; then when I checked the day after certificates were supposed to post, SURPISE…no points.

I called again and was told that there was never any points attached to my account. WTF! Then told that the purchases were attached and would be ANOTHER 35 days to certificates. I then asked to be transferred to a supervisor, and got transferred to some random parts guy with no affiliation with reward zone.

I am officially DONE with Best Buy. F*** them.

  16. Michael says:

My concerns were quickly resolved here: http://forums.bestbuy.com/bb/

Thanks to Derek I have been reformed and back on the Best Buy bandwagon. **I guess I’m easy**

Reward Zone is a frad. Thay had a promotion for 5000 Bonus point in Dec for every new phone you buy through Reward zone. So i went to get rewardzone card in store then went home register it and went to reward zone site and place a order with new service the same day. i had literally sepnt 4 hours to place an order that time. but since they had 5000 bonus for each new phone it was worth it so we brought 2 new pnonce so basically i am suppose to get 10000 bonus point which is worth 200 dollars. And after I pick up my phone I had wasted my 6 hours to different problem with them and finally they are saying that I didn not brought a phone through rewardzone. I mean Are they carzy THEY ARE AND NOW I AM STUCK WITH THE NEW CONTRACT FOR 2 YEARS AND THEY WILL NOT CARE FOR THAT EITHER IF THEY DONT INVESTIGATE MY CASE THEN THATS IT NO MORE BEST BUY………
