Grr….I guess I have to deal with it since I’m on the phone with people ALL DAY!!

Let me break it down…today I worked a nice short shift. Of course I have to get a call with a complete prick on the other end. I greet each and every customer the same, “Hi, can I get your 10-digit phone number please”. (I need their phone number in order to pull up their information).

So anyways, I get a guy and answered the call like that. He gives me his number and then I have to verify some information. Then he says to me, “Just so you know for next time, answer with a hello, how are you doing? How was your day?” etc….I can’t remember all the exact words he used. I didn’t know what to respond because I was like WTF!!

Who the hell are you that I have to ask how was your day, if you are feeling alright, etc?? This guy honestly thought he was the king of the castle or something and that everyone has to bow down to him. He even asked to speak to my supervisor which I then just gladly transferred him to customer service and let them deal with him and call my supervisor.

Like honestly…I still can’t believe what a prick this guy was. I treat everyone one of my customers the same. I’ll greet them all the same and ask the exact same questions. So I don’t know what was up this guys ass but man…..it ticked me off that he thought he was better than everyone.

It’s not like my supervisor can do anything about it anyways as I treat everyone with the same respect they give me. He was such an asshole though. I seriously wanted to tell him off on the phone but can’t since a.) The call is recorded and b.) I just got the job not too long ago and don’t want to put that in jeopardy.

I seriously hope he jumps off a cliff or something. People like that have no business living if they in turn can’t be nice to others without demanding special treatment. Like give me a break…what a nut job.

The place I work at has been really good so far. The thing I love the best is that all I’m doing is taking orders over the phone and using a computer, plus I’m getting paid mucho dinero!! $$$$$

Once my probation period (aka “newbie” status) is up, I’m hoping to advance within the company. There’s a few different sections I could really see myself working at. One of them being marketing. I absolutely love doing market research and know what people want for the service this company provides. Heck, I know exactly what I would want!!

The one thing I’ll NEVER and I mean NEVER want to get a job with is the customer service department. HELL NO!!

I can’t believer the rudeness I get from people over the phone while I take their order for certain things. Plus, they get pissed at me if I can’t hear them if their phone keeps cutting in and out. So there’s no way I can deal with angry people day in and day out in customer service.

Kudos to anyone who works in customer service. I wouldn’t be able to do it because of the stupidity of the people you have to deal with. Anyone who deals with the general public knows EXACTLY what I’m talking about.

February 2nd, 2008Work, work, and more work

That’s what my life feels like. Now I remember why I took over a year off from work and lived off the money I had saved. Man…I’m sooo longing for that again.

I have no time for anything!! By the time I get up, I have to shower, eat something, and then it’s off to work only to repeat the same thing the next day. Seriously, where is my free time to relax!!?? These past few days have been killing me. I have to work once again to the wee hours of the morning. By the time I get home, I’ll pass out and sleep right away. That’s what I feel like doing right now.

Thank goodness next week is not as crazy!! I’m actually looking forward to seeing Monday roll around because I’m off three days then. *whew* …… then I can finally catch up on a lot of things I’m missing out on that is going on in the web world.

Anyways, I gotta cut this short because you know why. I have to get ready for friggin’ WORK!!! Arrggghhh…

January 24th, 2008Working out great!

Well, like I mentioned before, I recently got a job. In fact, it’s only the second week of my training. Next week I won’t have no trainer or other person to help me whenever I have questions. That’s the thing I’m a bit afraid of because you sometimes get some crazy people on the phone.

So what do I do for my job? Well, all I do is take in orders that customers place through the phone. All the information and questions I need is up on a computer screen, so I just have to make sure I get all the information correct. Sounds easy doesn’t it. Not quite. There’s certain codes you have to remember for different products and so many of them are very close.

Plus the job is really repetitive. Not that I’m complaining because this job is super easy and pays really well + benefits, it’s just that by the end of my shift, I end up getting a headache because I talk too much. That’s what happened yesterday and now today as well. *sigh*

I’ll be buying more aspirin soon. I’m sure this bottle I have will be gone in no time.

January 21st, 2008Just thinking…

My new job is going great. The one thing I love about it is that it has wonderful benefits unlike my last real job. The only thing I’m not too sure about if is I can get life insurance too.

Regardless, I’m still looking into term life insurance quotes and others. After all, I want my family to get a payday if I happen to kick the bucket before them. I think everyone needs some sort of life insurance.

You know what…now that I think about it, I think there was some sort of life insurance included when I filled out some forms for insurance. I remember filled out three spots for beneficiaries. Of course I put my nephew and both my sisters.

Yeah…so I guess I have it once my probation period at the job is over. Well that’s in like 3-6 months though.

January 12th, 2008I got the job

Well, if you don’t follow me on twitter, then you probably don’t know that I applied for a job recently. In fact, the interview took just about an hour and I ended up getting the job!! Woot!!

I can’t wait to start next week for paid training which is awesome!!!

And yes, getting a job was one of my new year resolutions. So now that it’s out of the way, I just have to save up money during the next few months so I can finally move out on my own!! I am really excited over this!!

I’m currently looking for employment. I’m in no rush but I’m keeping my options open. I was reading this one job description, and this is honestly what it said.

Needs to be able to lift up to 50 pounds, read a map. Riding shot gun with driver to deliver products to the customers. You need a car because it is not bus accessible. Pay rate is $10/hour.

Ya…that part freaked me out a bit until I found out that it means sitting next to the driver. But geeze…my initial thought was that this was some sort of mob job or something and there was a shotgun present in the car. LOL!

Anyways…I pass…I’ll keep looking…
