Did any of you hear about this? This explorer by the name of Jason Lewis has spent 4,833 days and 46,505 miles going across the world on his pedal boat, kayaks, inline skates and bicycles.

I am in complete shock that this guy has done this over the course of 13 years. That takes a lot of guts and strength to do so. He traveled across five continents and two oceans. Amazing!!

You can read more about it here and see the photographs. I applaud this brave man for completely such a unique quest.

October 5th, 2007I need a road trip!

I have never been to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In fact, I have never even been to North Carolina. It would be nice to visit one day, but that of course requires a road trip with friends or family.

I can’t wait to have a road trip!! I want to see many places in the United States because I’ve never been there. Some of the places I want to visit include, NYC, DC, The Grand Canyon, and a few other places.

Are there any places that are a must see that being Canadian, I don’t know about? Any suggestions is helpful. Thanks!

October 5th, 2007B & B’s are great!

When participating in a road trip, chances are you’ll end up staying at a bed and breakfast for a night or two. B & B’s are always so roomy and the people around are friendly.

I myself have been to at least one B & B and enjoyed my time spent there. The room was beautiful since it was Victorian styled. The food was well cooked and the folks were very welcoming and we struck up wonderful conversations.

If you live in England, you can stay at the wonderful penrith bed and breakfast. Stay for one night or a whole week. It’s up to you. You can find more information by clicking the link above.

October 4th, 2007Get rid of your bedbugs!

During the summer while I was researching different resorts to stay at in the Dominican, I considered going to the Bahia Principe in Puerto Plate. I’m so glad I didn’t!! While reading what others thought about the place, the issues of bedbugs kept coming up. I was totally disgusted at this and thought there was no way I was going there even if the price was amazingly cheap. That’s when we settled on the Bahia Principe in Punta Cana which is AMAZING!!

Anyways, to make this story short, I really wish the owners of that one resort turn to websites such as BedBugsGuide.com who have the information in regards to getting rid of these little critters. I can’t imagine being on vacation and then having to deal with bedbugs. NASTY!!

September 29th, 2007The Caribbean is amazing!!

I love learning about new cultures and places worldwide. There’s something so beautiful about all the people in the world. Of course that’s no different to the culture from the Caribbean island St. Lucia.

As someone who has swam in the Caribbean Sea, I can honestly say that the environment is spectacular!! The folks are great, the places are beautiful, and you’ll have one hell of a time vacationing there.

Learning about the food, attractions, and information for getting around will benefit you ahead of time. You can take the time to explore this tropical place so that you can get the most out of your vacation.

Seeing how my family always vacations in the Caribbean, I definitely have St. Lucia on my places to visit list. It is truly breathtaking!!

September 23rd, 2007Haunted bed & breakfasts

The one thing I love doing is traveling. It’s great to see new places and meet new people. I like staying in inns such as the Vermont bed and breakfast selection. Places like that make it so homey.

I’ve heard from many friends and even from online message boards that a lot of older bed and breakfasts are supposedly haunted. I’d love to see that!! Of course I’d be freaked out and would want to leave, but experiencing things of the paranormal just gives me a thrill.

September 18th, 2007Moving to Miami…

A cousin of mine travels down to Miami so many times a year that it’s impossible to keep track of it. I told her to move down there since she’s spending so much money going back and forth from Miami to Canada. She has her husband’s family living there, so I’m sure she’ll settle in just fine.

I received a call from her last week, where she said that she’s looking into Miami real estate so she can find an affordable home near her in-laws house. I think it’ll save her a bundle to just move there instead of doing all that traveling. Plus, she won’t need to hire a babysitter or put money aside for a daycare since her mother-in-law can easily watch the children.

I hope she moves there if it’ll better herself. Of course I’ll miss having the convenience of seeing her, but everything will work out just fine.

save our homes
