December 23, 2008 Woot! It’s done!!

Wasn’t sure I’d get a chance and go out to the mall to finish off my Christmas shopping, but I did!! It’s all wrapped and placed under the tree next to all the gifts my sister and parents bought. Now it’s just waiting for my other sister’s gifts to be placed there as well. I’ll have to take a photo of it all together before everyone digs in and looks for their gifts.

We’ll be opening our gifts tomorrow night on Christmas Eve. To be honest, I can’t remember a time when my family actually opened our gifts on Christmas morning. I think we’ve always done it on the eve before. We do this whole party too. My mother goes all out with cooking some Portuguese favourites, plus she cooks seafood by the bundles so everyone will have enough to eat. Half the time, we have leftovers of shrimp, crabs, lobsters, muscles, and even clams….yes…she cooks all of it. LOL. Afterall, we are celebrating. HAHAHA.

This year should be lots of fun though. My nephew is old enough that he can open his own presents, unlike last year where he was just a month old. So it’ll be fun to see him dig in as well and feel the Christmas spirit. He already knows “Ho, Ho, Ho”. He even repeats it sometimes. Plus, he smiles whenever you put on a santa hat.

He knows that the presents under the tree are for opening. I caught him opening one before and had to snatch it before he saw what it was. Ironnically, he grabbed one that was labeled for him too. Hahaha.

But yeah…Christmas should be definitely fun this year!

So, when is your family opening gifts?? Christmas Eve or Christmas Day??

Yes…it’s my birthday today!! I am now 23 years old. LOL.

Gosh, time flies by so darn quick. I can remember my childhood like it was yesterday.

Today should be fun though. My family is getting together to celebrate and even my close cousin (who is practically another sister to me), is also stopping by. So it’ll be great seeing her as well.

So anyways, I’m off to bed early tonight. Gotta be ready to rock through the day, so I need my sleep. Heehee.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

Woot woot woot. lolz.

Can you believe I’ve taken so long to blog here. Bah!! Not cool at all considering I do nothing all day. Yes, you heard me. Since my last couple of posts, I ended up quitting my job. I marched right in there and told them that I had to quit and even made a letter of resignation. They asked how come, if there was anything they could do to change my mind, etc. But the truth be told, I had to leave because of personal reasons (ie: just sick and tired of doing that kind of work, plus some supervisors just rubbed me the wrong way).

So here I am, free without really a care in the world. I blog when I can, watch my nephew a lot, and play WOW (World of Warcraft) with Jen almost everyday. We are definitely a duo to be reckoned with. Hahaha!!

Maybe I’ll find another job soon, but having some time off from work is always nice. Plus,  Halloween is just around the corner, then comes Christmas. On top of that, October & November are birthday crazy months in my family. My older sister’s was on Oct 16. Mine, on Oct 29. Then comes my dad Nov 9 and my nephew’s 1st birthday on the Nov 12th. Then after that in early December comes my parents anniversary. It gets pretty hectic trying to find everyone the perfect gifts, not only for their birthdays but right afterward for Christmas too! And think about the money!! I don’t know how I’m going to come up with it, but I’ll somehow manage.

Anyways, I don’t know how many of you regular readers remember when I woke up with a black tongue for the first time last year. Maybe this post will refresh your memory. Well, it seems that my other post that provides the explanation has helped soooo many people. The number of people getting black tongues is pretty astonishing. I have almost 200 responses and get comments almost everyday on that post.

At the time of the incident, the box I had never said it may cause a black tongue, so I’m not sure if the company has it now written as a label. I think everyone should be aware of it and hope it’s on the damn box. Since that time, I can’t say I really use it anymore. I try to ride out upset stomachs and it eventually passes – so no more black tongues for me. LOL!!

August 10, 2008 Busy With Life

Time sure does fly. No seriously, it really does.

I can’t believe my older sister’s wedding is coming up in one week. Yes… ONE WEEK!!!She’s getting married on Saturday August 16th, 2008.

OMG!! I’m the maid of honour and have to make a speech too. LOL! FYI, I hate public speaking so I can already see how this is going!!

I was worried I wasn’t going to get everything ready in time too. But shoes check, appointments for hair, makeup, & manicures/pedicures check, and now all I’m waiting for is Monday so I can pick up my dress from the tailor since it had to be hemmed.

But wow…it’s been a pretty stressful time. Last minute things and getting things organized, and not to mention coming up with the $$ to pay for it all. Ya…that one..well, lets just say I have a habit of blowing my money ALL THE TIME!!

And of course I have to feed my addiction to World of Warcraft. Too much fun!! And to my guildy friends, thanks for visiting my site! See ya in Azeroth!!

hp-photosmart-a826It was nice having our family altogether again for a celebration (ie: Mother’s Day). We really surprised my mother this year considering we not once asked her what she wanted. We just knew.

Some things we got her included a huge mother’s day card, jacket, flower stems (she needed to change some faux flowers in some pots she has), large & deep frying pan + a few other pots (everything stainless steel and bloody expensive!!), and last but not least my favourite…an HP Photosmart A826 Compact Photo Printer.

The photo printer we got was one I personally had my eye on getting but knew my mother would be ecstatic once she learned how to use it. She is constantly bugging me to order photos of my nephew from the Walmart photo center in our local store. Of course, I always forget to do so which was good anyways. Why? Well, once I showed my mother how to print out photos from this printer, and photos of my nephew came out with unbelievable quality, my mother cried. Yes…I said that right – she cried.

She cherishes photographs deeply which is one of the reasons I knew it would be a great gift for her. Plus, I got it CHEAP too!! It was $250 before…then went down to $199. I saw it online for only $159 at FutureShop.ca. Then of course I check out BestBuy.ca and they had it for $149. So I just went to FutureShop because they match the price and then give you a 10% off from the difference. SWEET!! So it was definitely a great bargain in the end! LOL!

May 9, 2008 Mother’s Day Gifts!

I’m a little stuck with ideas on what to get my mother for Mother’s Day. I’m actually nervous about it because it’s only a few days away!! I still haven’t even talked it over with my sisters either. *sigh*

Maybe I’ll just go for something easy such as flowers. I know that 1800Flowers.com have perfect mother’s day flowers available. They also have gift baskets and other goodies that you can send to your mom as well. Not to mention everything is on sale too!!

Hum…*thinking*…maybe I SHOULD get her a gift basket with lots of goodies of her favourite things! That sounds like a plan to me!
