There are some things I just absolutely love about the house we are living in, but then there are some I don’t. Even though our house was a brand new lot when we moved in about 10 years ago, I still miss some stuff from our old house.

The major I thing I really miss is the enormous backyard we had. There was so much room to do all sorts of things and the outdoor lighting was always superb. Now our backyard is three quarters of what it used to be and to me, that’s quite a difference.

I can’t add a large pool in the backyard we have now because there isn’t enough room with the peach tree and garden we have. At our old house, I easily fit one without any hassles. This is one of the things I really don’t like because I want a huge pool. Arggh…

And no…my parents don’t want to move. *sigh*

birdbath.gifIt’s almost February already. Can you believe it? Pretty soon we’ll slide past spring and into the warm air of summer.

Of course that’s when your gardening gloves come on and you start working around the clock to beautify your garden or backyard. Well, it’s that way at my else anyways.

My mother loves decorating our backyard with flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, and of course other lawn decorations. The one thing I noticed that we don’t have is a birdbath fountain.

I saw some awesome ones which you can read more about. I especially like this one in the picture off to the side. It would really go with the rest of the decorations we have. Plus, my neighbour has a bird house on his fence, and we always have bird around. Then they can come and bath in the birdbath whenever they want.

Hum…what’s the next occasion for my mom. Mother’s Day. Maybe I’ll get that for her as a gift then. Heehee…I KNOW she’ll love it!!

Bloggers Unite - Blog Action Day

If you haven’t heard yet, today is Blog Action Day. What does it mean? It’s a day were all blogs discuss the same issue on the same day. In short:

“One issue. One day. Thousands of voices.”

The issue this year is the environment. What better timing since everyone is now fully aware of global warming and the effects we are already seeing on the environment.

It’s so sad to see all the ice melting in the North, polar bears drowning each and every day because they are on ice that breaks off and floats into the vast ocean space. Why aren’t we doing enough to protect the very same Earth that each and every one of use call home? *sigh*

Here’s a quick list of things you can do to help out the environment. They don’t cost much time and they can have a great impact.

  • Walk, take a bus, bike ride, or carpool instead of using your car everyday.
  • Don’t accept plastic bags when shopping. Use your own fabric bag (Go Green campaign). Dollar stores also sell bags you can use that are no plastic.
  • Turn off the lights and electricity when not in use. You don’t need the light in your kitchen on if you’re watching tv in the living room.
  • Switch your light bulbs to energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs.
  • Don’t waste too much water because water is life.
  • Cut down on paper use. Too many trees die just for paper.

Now, are any of those things so hard to do? I think not. Every little bit helps the environment. This is our Earth…our home. If no one takes care of it, who will?

Individuals who are regular applicants of a bad credit loan are essentially in dire need of professional debt management assistance. This is true because not everyone is apt enough to handle debt issues. Instead of straining your credit, it is so much better to look for a debt management professional.

September 26, 2007 Flowers are amazing!

Every girl loves to receive flowers from a loved one. I am no different. Receiving a bouquet of flowers just makes my day.

My favourite type of flowers are white orchids just like these White Dendrobium Orchids pictured in the image off to the side. They are just so beautiful and will brighten up any room in your home. I have never been able to grow them myself, but I do buy them to place in my house from time to time.

You can order these flowers and many others from online flower shops such as ProFlowers.com. They even have flower delivery available to make it easier for you to send a bouquet to someone special.

If you are interested in agriculture, then check out this video below.

Did you know that the Florida Agriculture is a $87 billion industry that provides food around the world. Having farmers is so important. They literally grow all the fruits and vegetables that we see at the grocery stores. Without them, I wonder how many of use would be eating healthy. Anyways, check out the video and Rev It Up with Fresh from Florida!

May 25, 2007 First time mower

Last week, my father showed my sister and I how to mow the lawn (no joke). It was the first time I ever just listened and learned to start up the machine and how to use it.

Since now I know how to use the machine, I’ll probably be doing it often since the weather is warming up nicely. The only thing I’m worried about is whether or not something may go wrong or break down. That’s why I’ve bookmarked MowParts.com. They give a lot of information regarding products and even lawn mower blades.

You should check it out too if you are having problems with your lawn mower!

Most people know what a bonsai is. If you don’t, it’s a plant that looks like a tree. It does have an art form which is actually the way of growing many different species of plants and trees.

Bonsai trees must be taken care of properly. Failure to do so will result in a lifeless tree. I have owned a bonsai tree myself, and unfortunately it did not last long since I didn’t care for it correctly as I should. Thank goodness for websites that are dedicated to helping other bonsai lovers take care of their plants correctly.

BonsaiGardener.org does just that. They have over 200 articles about the hobby which will help you care for your plant properly. Just check out the article entitled “Bonsai Tree Care“. If I read an article like this before getting my own bonsai plant, I’m sure it would of still been alive today. Which is why it is so important to read about the plant first and then get one yourself.

Check out BonsaiGardener.org for more information on bonsai.
