Week of May 10: On Your Mind

Name and describe 3 things on your mind lately. Is there any particular reason why you’re thinking about a particular thing?

The first thing I have always on my mind is “my secret” that I talked about in a private. Those who were able to read it, know why this is always on my mind.

The second is my dog. The reason I have my dog on my mind is because lately her leg is not working at it should be. Even though the x-rays showed nothing, a different doctor said it could be artertis.

The third thing that is on my mind are book orders. My sister brought home some flyers to order books from and I can’t choose what I want. LOL!

Week of May 08: Around The World

What is the #1 place you would like to visit in the world? Why?
The #1 place I’d love to visit is Japan. I have been obsessed with the culture since I was a kid. Heck, I have even been self-teaching myself Japanese words and the language. Unfortunately I have yet to step foot into the country. I hope to do so before I reach the age of thirty.

What is the least place you would like to visit in the world? Why?
The least place I would like to visit is any place in the desert. I don’t think I’ll be able to walk under the constant sunlight.

What country do you live in? Were you born there? How do you like it?
I currently live in Canada where I was born and raised. I absolutely love! … who doesn’t like free health care LOL! I live in the city, but I hope to reside in the countryside sometime in the near future.

Week of May 6: At the Movies

Do you like going to the movie theater? How often do you go? What treats do you buy when you go?
I love going to the movie theater but only go whenever there is a movie I just HAVE TO SEE. How often I go, really depends on if there are movies I have to see. I don’t really buy myself treats unless it’s popcorn or skittles. But then again, I sneak other snacks in. LOL!

Cell phones in the theater, do you keep yours on or off?
I always put my cell phone on silent. The last thing I want to be is disturbed right in the middle of a movie with a phone ringing or vibrating.

What’s the last movie you went to see in the theater?
The last movie I went to see was “The Messengers”.

Have you ever waited on line for an obscene amount of time (several hours) just to get tickets to a movie? Also, have you ever dressed up as a film character…..i.e. a hobbit, a witch or wizard…while watching a movie?
I have never waited a large amount of time to get tickets for a movie or have I ever dressed up as a film character. That is just silly to me.

What do you like most and least about going to the movies?
The thing I like most about going to the movies is that you get to see the movie on a huge screen. Plus the sound effects are great and rumble throughout the movie hall. The least favourite thing are some of the obnoxious people you get who either talk to much, through food, or talk on their phones. ANNOYING!!

What’s the worst movie you’ve ever seen? Why?
Hum…the worst movie I have see was “Catch and Release” starring Jennifer Gardner. Maybe it was the time I went to see it which was the last show of the night. But I fell asleep. It was just that boring.

Week of May 5: Art Imagination

If you could paint a landscape what would it be?
If I could paint a landscape, it would be of the beautiful ocean moving calmly by the shore. I absolutely love the water so this would be like heaven to me.

If you could paint a portrait who would it be?
If I could paint a portrait, it would be my interpretation of who God is.

If you could paint a geometrical form what would it be?
Hum….I’m not even sure.

If you could paint any object what would it be?
I would definitely paint the heart because our hearts can mean anything and everything.

Week of May 4: I Love the 80s - Slumber Party Edition

If you were throwing an 80s themed slumber party…

What movies would you show?
Since I was only born in 1985, I can’t really relate, but I will imagine. LOL. The movie I would show would be Grease. Wasn’t that popular back then? lmao

What kind of food would you serve?
Same foods as today because the Portuguese have been around for ages. So a traditional meal - soup, bread, fish & rice, beef & potatoes, sea food, and dessert.

Which childhood friends and crushes would you reminisce about?
Hum…this would fit more into the 90s, but Joey Lawrence or the guys from New Kids on the Block.

Which trends and fads would you lament most?
Not sure.

What board or card games would you incorporate?
Twister!! LOL!

Week of May 3: Movin!

How many times have you moved in the past 5 years? Why/why haven’t you?
I have not moved in the past 5 years. My family built our house from scratch about 9 years ago, and I don’t think my parents are ready to move from it.

Are you one of those people who thinks moving is therapeutic? (You know, a time to get rid of things you don’t need, etc.) Why/why not?
No I don’t think so. The reason is because you can move away from something as much as you want, but the memories will ALWAYS remain with you no matter what…unless you medically lose your memory. Otherwise, it’s with you for life no matter what you do.

Do you prefer to move yourself, or do you hire someone to do it for you? Why/why not?
The one time we moved (when we moved into our new house 9 years ago), we moved ourselves. My father rented a rental truck and we did different loads. One of my father’s cousins also helped moving in the huge stuff. So we never hired no one.

Week of May 02: Photo Day

Are you a photographer?
Yes I am. I am still an amateur but I’m working on completely my photography certificates at my local college.

If so, tell us about your photo equipment.
My main SLR digital camera is my Olympus E-500 which I purchased last year. I also use smaller versions of Olympus digital cameras. I also have a tabletop tripod and a floor tripod.

Describe (or post) one of your favorite photos, either one you’ve taken or one you’ve seen.
One of my favourite photos is one I took last summer down at the lake. The sun was setting and it was making a beautiful reflection on the water. So I snapped the photo and it turned out beautifully. Click on the photo below to view it up close.

Do you like having your picture taken?
I’m not a big fan of having my picture taken as I am usually the one who is taking the picture.
