It was nice having our family altogether again for a celebration (ie: Mother’s Day). We really surprised my mother this year considering we not once asked her what she wanted. We just knew.
Some things we got her included a huge mother’s day card, jacket, flower stems (she needed to change some faux flowers in some pots she has), large & deep frying pan + a few other pots (everything stainless steel and bloody expensive!!), and last but not least my favourite…an HP Photosmart A826 Compact Photo Printer.
The photo printer we got was one I personally had my eye on getting but knew my mother would be ecstatic once she learned how to use it. She is constantly bugging me to order photos of my nephew from the Walmart photo center in our local store. Of course, I always forget to do so which was good anyways. Why? Well, once I showed my mother how to print out photos from this printer, and photos of my nephew came out with unbelievable quality, my mother cried. Yes…I said that right - she cried.
She cherishes photographs deeply which is one of the reasons I knew it would be a great gift for her. Plus, I got it CHEAP too!! It was $250 before…then went down to $199. I saw it online for only $159 at FutureShop.ca. Then of course I check out BestBuy.ca and they had it for $149. So I just went to FutureShop because they match the price and then give you a 10% off from the difference. SWEET!! So it was definitely a great bargain in the end! LOL!
Ya…I’m extremely pissed off beyond words can say. Why…what happened? A lot of things over the past month but mainly one thing is just making my blood boil. You can read about it here on my other blog which is HOSTED ELSEWHERE!!
The first thing you see when you enter my house, is the big grandfather clock my mother has in the hallway. It’s over 25 years old, looks brand new, and still works as if it were just bought yesterday.
Amazing right? I think so considering it’s age and the fact that it actually still works after all these years. If you are looking for the perfect house warming gift or just a long lasting gift for someone, consider getting them a traditional grandfather clock. They do make a remarkable presence in any home.
If you are looking for a great place to get clocks from, you may want to check out 1-800-4clocks.com. They have SOOO MANY that you can pick any style, price, and brand. The clocks found there are made with the highest form of quality as you can see from any photo. The photo I have shown in this post, looks exactly like my mother’s clock. If you’re not looking for a grandfather clock, they also have wall clocks and mantel clocks.
Like I said, there is a large variety that I’m sure you will find that perfect one for your home. Plus, don’t forget that both Mother’s and Father’s Day are coming up and this could make the perfect gift!!
Check out 1-800-4clocks.com for grandfather clock and much more!!
Don’t you feel that there isn’t enough hours in one day? That’s how I’m feeling right now. I woke up earlier than usually (9:30am…I usually get up in the afternoon), and I’ve been working on the computer ever since. Time is just flying by!! Then I have to shower and get ready for work soon. It’s just all ticking away too quickly for me to actually set back and enjoy!
I really don’t like days like this. I prefer them to go nice and slow, especially when I’m home. If I’m at work, then heck ya…go as fast as you can time. I just hate being on the phone the whole time taking to customers who can be quite rude. *rolls eyes thinking about certain incidents*
I’m a little stuck with ideas on what to get my mother for Mother’s Day. I’m actually nervous about it because it’s only a few days away!! I still haven’t even talked it over with my sisters either. *sigh*
Maybe I’ll just go for something easy such as flowers. I know that 1800Flowers.com have perfect mother’s day flowers available. They also have gift baskets and other goodies that you can send to your mom as well. Not to mention everything is on sale too!!
Hum…*thinking*…maybe I SHOULD get her a gift basket with lots of goodies of her favourite things! That sounds like a plan to me!
Did any of you watch Oprah today with Barbara Walters on it? You can see a preview of it here.
It was really fascinating to be honest. Just the way she told her stories glued you to the television set. Well, for me anyways. I was just so interested in what she had to say. It was different than most interviews on Oprah. Barbara Walters just seemed so down to earth and she got really emotional about a few things and didn’t want to continue on one topic. She said something, “I’ll just leave it as that”.
Her main reason for being on the show was to promote her new book “Audition: A Memoir“. I think I’m actually going to pick this up from the bookstore or buy it online. Weird isn’t it? I’m actually interested in reading about Barbara Walters’ life…a woman twice my age. Hah!
