October 16th, 2007Shopping in 20 minutes!

This morning I went shopping for a whole twenty minutes before my class started at 11am. My sister had to get the baby car seat since they don’t allow you to take the infant out of the hospital unless you have one…which of course is understandable because the safety of the infant comes first.

Then as I’m carrying the huge box for her (we didn’t get a cart), I noticed some huge stuffed animals and squealed like a kid. I went over to the huge bin and put down the box. Of course I started going through it all since they had giraffes, leopards, lions, elephants, monkeys, and so many other stuffed toys. I ended up buying a monkey!!

LOL! I’ll take a picture of it and post about it later. It’s sooo friggin cute!!

In today’s society, more and more people are trying to make AIDS more aware. Did you know that there are people who will just sleep with anyone unprotected? I have met a few in my life and I still can’t believe they would take the risk of getting an STD or even AIDS.

Thankfully, we are seeing more and more promotions to make a greater awareness of the impact AIDS makes. Just look at what IndieMV has done. They have partnered up with UNICEF to spread the awareness about how AIDS impacts the lives of children worldwide.

They have a youth video contest going on that provides video clips, images, and music tracks so that contestants can edit and put their own personal statement about the impact of AIDS. This is great since everyone is impacted differently. Some more than others.

By participating in this contest, you could win some great prizes. Some of them include:

  • iPods
  • Cash prizes
  • Nintendo Wii’s
  • Best Buy gift certificates
  • Trip to a concert in Montreal
  • and much more!!

What better way to win a prize that participating in a contest with a great cause. Check out IndieMV - Music+People today for more information.

October 15th, 2007*Yawn*

Man…I just want to go to sleep right now. It’s been a not so busy day, but I’m tired as heck. I don’t get it. Maybe it’s from the 5 hours of sleep I got. I dunno. All I know is that if I go and lay down in my bed, I’m sure I’ll fall asleep right away. It doesn’t help either when I’m listening to Enya. Her music is always so relaxing.

Okay…I think I will go try and read a few pages of the book “If I Did It” before I fall asleep. I’ll be back later. Cya!

The joy of owning a tv in this day and age. Seriously…back then you couldn’t have all the cool features such as picture in picture, high definition, surround sound, and satellite channels.

I remember my parents telling me stories of when they never had anything like this. The only thing they had was a small black and white tv were you had to turn the knob to change the channels. Oh how the times have changed!

Thankfully, televisions have changed for the better. I even have settings where I can mute and have closed captioning show on the screen. I usually do that when I have an important call I have to take, or a family member needs to use the phone. That way, I can still watch and understand what is going on just by reading the words.

It’s awesome! LOL!…they didn’t have that back then did they? hahaha

October 15th, 2007The day is coming up soon!!

Time is flying by really quickly. Just next month I will finally become an aunt! I can’t wait!!

My sister is still covered under my dad’s medical insurance. They cover a semi-private room in the hospital. For only $20 more, she can up that room to a private room which is exactly what she wants to do. I would too. Come on…it’s only $20 more. LMAO!!

It’ll be nice to have a private room for family and friends to gather around. Plus her room will have a couch, tv mount, bathroom, and other cool things that she gets included.

I seriously can’t wait!! This will be the first grandchild for my parents and my first nephew!! I’m so excited!! November 21st is my sister’s due date. I can’t wait for the coming weeks.

October 15th, 2007Protect the environment!

Bloggers Unite - Blog Action Day

If you haven’t heard yet, today is Blog Action Day. What does it mean? It’s a day were all blogs discuss the same issue on the same day. In short:

“One issue. One day. Thousands of voices.”

The issue this year is the environment. What better timing since everyone is now fully aware of global warming and the effects we are already seeing on the environment.

It’s so sad to see all the ice melting in the North, polar bears drowning each and every day because they are on ice that breaks off and floats into the vast ocean space. Why aren’t we doing enough to protect the very same Earth that each and every one of use call home? *sigh*

Here’s a quick list of things you can do to help out the environment. They don’t cost much time and they can have a great impact.

  • Walk, take a bus, bike ride, or carpool instead of using your car everyday.
  • Don’t accept plastic bags when shopping. Use your own fabric bag (Go Green campaign). Dollar stores also sell bags you can use that are no plastic.
  • Turn off the lights and electricity when not in use. You don’t need the light in your kitchen on if you’re watching tv in the living room.
  • Switch your light bulbs to energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs.
  • Don’t waste too much water because water is life.
  • Cut down on paper use. Too many trees die just for paper.

Now, are any of those things so hard to do? I think not. Every little bit helps the environment. This is our Earth…our home. If no one takes care of it, who will?

Individuals who are regular applicants of a bad credit loan are essentially in dire need of professional debt management assistance. This is true because not everyone is apt enough to handle debt issues. Instead of straining your credit, it is so much better to look for a debt management professional.

October 14th, 2007What the future holds…

My older sister Lisa is getting her future set to every last detail. It’s crazy to think that she is turning 25 years old already!! I still can’t believe it!

Of course she and her boyfriend are planning their future together. This of course includes the house they just bought, diamond rings they are looking at, and even discussing the possibility of children after she’s 27. I’m very happy for her!!

This has obviously made me take a step back and look at my life. I on the other hand, am not sure what career field to go with, don’t have a boyfriend that I can say I want to spend the rest of my life with, don’t have the money to get my own place, and I’m not even thinking about children yet!!

Yes, I know I’ll be 22 years old this month, but none of these things are crossing my mind. I still feel like a kid at heart and don’t know what the future has in store for me. I hope it’s good though!! LOL!
