October 19th, 2007Circle of friends

Being a woman, I often find myself chatting with friends about guys, pms, progesterone, weight loss, menopause, gossip, shopping, family, and a bunch of other things in between.

It makes me laugh sometimes since our ages range from 20-25. We talk about a lot of issues that groups of women over 30 would be talking about. Sometimes I even catch a topic and stop to ask, “Why are we talking about this?” We all laugh it off because no one really has an answer.

When you have a group of friends, you’ll end up talking about a lot of things. It’s always nice getting together and I look forward to seeing them every week.

October 19th, 2007No quick fix for obesity

As obesity keeps on rising worldwide, more and more companies are trying to create the “magic pill” or even a diet patch. I’m not sure how these things really work, but I doubt they will have long lasting results.

The only way that seems to be effective is by plain old exercising regularly and eating right. What happened with keeping all the organic things? Now it’s constantly fast food, fried foods, and basically junk food that people are getting their hands on. Eek!! Not healthy at all!!

I remember being a kid and going to the vending machines at school. Guess what was in them? Chips, chocolate, and pop. Why don’t they get some healthy snacks in the schools so we don’t see the rise of obesity in children? It’s disturbing to see all these children in the mall that are extremely overweight and unhealthy.

Clearly something is going wrong. What’s the wrong? That we tend to go for fast finger foods which are mostly fatty and unhealthy. *sigh* Wouldn’t it be nice to see a fast food joint that was completely healthy? …serving yogurt, low fat veggie burgers, crackers, and other yummy healthy foods.

Sadly, I have yet to come across any such place. Wouldn’t it be nice though? I think so.

I was catching up on my daily feeds when I ran into this news article from the Daily Mail. I am disgusted at the person who could do such a thing to his/her neighbours. If you have a problem with friggin animals coming on your property, get one of those invisible fences that just gives a little shock so they know to stay away. You don’t know this!!!!!!!! (read the whole article here)

Here are some excerpts:

When their cats started to disappear mysteriously, the residents of Bramley Crescent were understandably puzzled and distressed.

But this week the search took a disturbing and sinister twist. Each family received an anonymous letter from the ‘person responsible for the disappearance of your cats’.

This malicious act was a form of revenge for the animals apparently vandalising the catnapper’s garden - on the very same street.

Now go and read the friggin’ letter. It’s so disturbing!! I would hunt through the entire street to find out who the S.O.B is and cut up every single thing he/she had in their garden….and that would NOT be the last of it. There are many other things I’d do to this asshole if it were my pet taken away.

October 18th, 2007A million and one things to do

Yes, I know I have a million and one things to do.

  • assignments
  • studying
  • cleaning up
  • blogging
  • replying to emails
  • helping other people
  • etc…

There is a lot I have to do this coming weekend. I have many emails in my inbox of people requesting help with themes, coding, etc. Please hang tight! I’ll try to respond by tonight, if not tomorrow for sure. Sorry for the late replies.

October 18th, 2007The year is nearly over!

It’s crazy to think that it’s nearing the end of October so soon. Time is really flying by this year. I’m grateful, of course, since my nephew is to be born next month. Woot!! Can’t wait!

When you think about it, summer isn’t that far away either. Heck, this year is pretty much at it’s end. Then shortly after Christmas people will be booking their cruises, flights, and other exotic destinations for their summer vacation.

It’ll be here sooner than you know it. It’s like “boom”…months just fly by!!

October 18th, 2007I’m not a huge sports fan

I’m not a huge sports fan. When I was a kid I was more into it. Now, I only like a few sports such as soccer and hockey. One of my good friends is trying to get me to attend football games. My own city has a team (the Tiger Cats), and yet I have never seen them in action. Most people in my city have, but not me LOL!

My friend J, adores football. He has anything and everything related to football in his room. It’s crazy!! He even buys tickets such as Jets tickets or even Tiger Cats tickets online. He says it’s the easiest way to get them. I would agree because you get them with just a click of a button instead of waiting in line at your local Ticket Master.

Who knows…maybe I’ll attend a game when football season starts again. LOL!

October 16th, 2007Confused

I have mixed feelings right now.

Something very very exciting happened tonight. I will elaborate on what it was sometime tomorrow. Very exciting news though!

I also feel lost…lost because I don’t know what I want in life. Where I’m going to go…what am I going to do?

On top of all that, I have a midterm tomorrow morning that I haven’t even studied for. It’s not your average midterm where it’s multiple choice. It’s a whole lot of accounting stuff that I have to do and remember.

*sigh*…it’s going to be a longggg night.
