Oh course I mentioned in a previous post about my cooking. You know, I seriously can’t…well baking anyways. I attempted to make chocolate chip cookies with my sister since she had made them the previous week with my older sister. All was going good and I set the stove and everything. She was there to help me of course, and made sure everything was the same way they did it last week.
So I’m watching them bake thinking, “Wow, this is going great so far!”…. Well not for so long. Smoke started coming out of one of the top burners and I said it’s not suppose to be that much smoke. Both my sisters (let me remind you, they cooked a batch the same way last week, which turned out fine), told me just keep watching it there’s only a minute. I’m like look it’s burning!!! My older one is like “You’re so paranoid about cooking. Relax they are not burning.” *smoke still coming from top burner*
I replied back with “Well, you didn’t see the smoke that came out last week when I tried to cook.” They both laughed that off. Then I looked back and I could clearly see there were burning and I yelled, “I’m stopping. They are burning.” My sisters hell back “No….wait!!!!” …. So I just stop everything and my other sister opens the oven, and look and behold….ALL THIS SMOKE COMES RUSHING OUT!!! It was to the point where, honest to God, the smoke had filled up the whole top part of the room. My sister’s ran to open windows and try to calm the fire alarm that sounded, while I pulled out all the trays that were in and put on the fan on the stove. It was insane!!!
My mom comes around and starts yelling saying you’re never going to touch my stove again, blah blah blah. First of all, I hate stoves and they CLEARLY don’t like me. My younger sister is like, “I think you have a curse or something to make you don’t cook.” I was like wtf….after that. This is why I said and I repeat, I CANNOT COOK!! … bake anyways.
It’s so ridiculous and makes me feel like shit because all the other women in the house (my mom, older sister, and even younger sister), can all cook fine. Whenever I touch the stove, everything burns and doesn’t come out how it’s suppose to. I think I better go take some cooking classes of some sort because today just lower my self esteem a bit since cooking is a skill I’m definately going to need when I move out and start living my life on my own.
