August 22nd, 2006Blood Sucking Schools!! >_<
Well, I’m not sure how many of you have gone through college or university thinking about strangling the people responsible for tuition fees or textbooks prices. Let me say, it’s ridulous!!! Okay here is my rundown of college tuition/course fees.
I attended college for:
- Early Childhood Education - 2 years - approx. $4800
- Photography classes - summer (3 courses) - approx. $600
- Office Administration (Executive) - 1st semester - approx. $1300
TOTAL: $6700
Now that is not including textbooks, supplies, transportation, and other necessary fees. Man, they suck every blood and sweat that dripped from you working so damn hard for money when your a student which is usually minimum wage. ($6.45 when I started school but now $7.75). So if I’m making around $7.00/hour, I’d have to work at least 957 hours!!! That’s just the estimation of how much time I spent trying to get enough money for school.
Thank goodness for my dad and mom. They paid my tuition for my office administration program this semester and hopefully next, since I’m pratically broke from all these expenses. And get this…I just spent another $850 on fuckin TEXTBOOKS for 1 SEMESTER!!!!!!!
You’d think schools give students a break from all the fees. Nope that’s not the case at all. I hate college fees! It’s outragous but I have to pay if I want that diploma so I can better myself for the future. It’s a pain in the ass that’s what it is. What bites even more is that I don’t qualify for any bursaries/scholarships that are available for my program. And I sure as hell don’t want to take out any student loans or any type of loan. I can’t stand the stress of worrying to payback a loan. So that’s out of the option.
Hopefully all this schooling will pay off in the future. I just hope to God that I am making the right decisions in my life and everything will work out.

WOW, that’s really unfair! $6700 just for the courses and not including the other things? hah, you’d think life would get easier, but i guess not. it’s good that you striked out taking a loan. it could be years until you pay it off and it would be just another hassle you have to worry about. thank goodness for parents, huh? but i guess they’re proud. i hope everything works out for the better and that you get awesome grades. it’s all for the future lol. compared to your worries, mine is pimple. i just need to learn how to drive. hah.
good luck!
