May 28, 2006 Summer 2006 Books

Here’s a list I put together with books that are a great read for those sunny summer afternoons while you curl up on a lounge chair. Summer is arriving quickly, so get out there and start reading.

Burnt Toast by Teri Hatcher
In the hope that her foibles and insights might inspire and motivate other women, Teri opens up about the little moments that have sustained her through good times and bad. From the everyday to the rare, the message at the heart of Burnt Toast that happiness and success are choices that we owe it to ourselves to make is sure to resonate with women everywhere.

Cesar’s Way by Cesar Millan
There are at least 68 million dogs in America, and their owners lavish billions of dollars on them every year. So why do so many pampered pets have problems? In this definitive and accessible guide, Cesar Millan—star of National Geographic Channel’s hit show Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan—reveals what dogs truly need to live a happy and fulfilled life.

Dispatches from the Edge by Anderson Cooper
Few people have witnessed more scenes of chaos and conflict around the world than Anderson Cooper, whose groundbreaking coverage on CNN has changed the way we watch the news. In this gripping, candid, and remarkably powerful memoir, he offers an unstinting, up-close view of the most harrowing crises of our time, and the profound impact they have had on his life.

Forensic Files by Dr. Henry Lee
Legendary forensic scientist Lee continues to build his popular bibliography with his latest collaboration with medical doctor Labriola, but those seeking revelations about the two notorious cases cited in the subtitle will be disappointed. The investigation of Scott Peterson, the Elizabeth Smart abduction, and the case that closes the book, involving a plot worthy of fiction—two suspects accusing each other of the murder of the wife of one of them—challenged Lee’s skills to reconstruct who was actually guilty.

Home With God by Neale Donald Walsch
Through his profound and personal dialogue with God, Walsch explores the process by which all human beings must end their days here on Earth and begin their new life in God’s Kingdom, to which all eventually return, regardless of their earthly deeds. This astonishing spiritual work offers hope, comfort, and surprising revelations for all humankind.

Man my fucken family relationships are crumbling to a certain degree. My younger sister who is only seventeen, seems to act like a fucken big shot. She’s a stupid arrogant little bitch who tries to get everything her way. I mean, we fight ALL THE TIME! I’m not talking about cat fights, it’s full fists in the face and guts kind of fights. It’s to the point where she’s just gone completely out of control! It’s like a Maury Povich episode, “Out of control teens”.

We got in a fist fight last night, over a bunch of different things ranging from her curfew, whereabouts, and example she’s giving my cousin who is currently living at our house due to some issues of her own. Then the fucken stupidest thing happens. My older sister and mother turn the tables when I’m trying to straighten this girl out since neither of them do anything besides yell or cry about it.

My older sister and mother start yelling, “Go downstairs. Nobody told you to come upstairs. This isn’t your problem.” WTF!!!! Not my problem?? Sorry I’m not just going to sit on my ass and let my YOUNGER sister yell and argue at our mom and put her into tears, and they have the fucken balls to tell me to basically get lost. WHATEVER!!

Like, what is this world coming to. Better yet, when is my family going to realize what’s important in life and how are you going to go about and achieve any goals you set for yourself. It really pissed me off though, they told me it’s not my problem…

Arrrgghhhh…some things just make me sooo angry that I just want to smash heads into the wall (and I’m a very passive person). I just don’t get it. It just really makes me sad and want to cry because of these sorts of things are happening in my family.

May 16, 2006 Hurry Summer

[EDIT:] I’m looking for people to add to my blogroll. If you want to swap links, just comment and let me know. Thanks!

I just want summer to hurry up and come along. It seems that the weather lately has just been rain, rain, rain. It’s so frustrating when you want to plan a picnic or outing with some good friends and family. I just want summer to come fast. With all the sunshine, pools, and cocktail parties. *oh what fun!*

I guess, we all just got to hang tight even though spring can be a beautiful time as well. It’s just summer is a little better. Plus, we have our trip to Cuba in July too! So I want that to come along. I remember last year going to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, it seemed that the day never came. Then it just so happened that it came too quick. That was fun though.

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve put up a lot of different things like tutorials, articles, and my poetry which I’m adding almost daily. I’m going to write about a poem a day. When you think about it, that’s 365 POEMS!! Eek, more than enough to publish a book. Hopefully I can do that one day.

Anyways, I’m off to go mingle with some family members. Cya!

May 14, 2006 When Spring Arrives

“When Spring Arrives”

Flowers bloom
As spring arrives
Everything beautiful
Comes alive

The grass turns green
Leafs start to grow
Flowers start to colour
Into so many rows

With spring comes a beginning
With new opportunities to arise
So put your best foot forward
And get ready for a surprise

May 12, 2006 Working away…

So I’ve been working away on fixing up the site and installing new things. I’m totally in love with “widgets”. It makes fixing the layout structure easy. Try it out if you haven’t installed widgets on your wordpress blog.

I’ve also been adding tutorials, as well as my poetry. I have a few more things to add which will hopefully come soon enough. Thats all for now. Cya!
