“My Greatest Friend”

A friend can be anyone
Any race, image, or style
But the best kind is only one
The one who goes the extra mile

The one who’s always there
Whenever you’re feeling down
Who will pick you up upon their back
And never wants to see a frown

They smile and they play with you
And teach you cool new things
They dance around and twirl you
And loves to hear you sing

This kind of friend will mend a heart
And wipe away your tears
They’ll pray to God that all is well
For many, many years

I write this poem with all my heart
To my greatest friend
Because you have touched my life
Until the very end
